Welcome. This web site gives you information about the 2008 labor negotiations between Boeing and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA). Managers, union-represented employees and their families can use this site as a source of updates, background on relevant issues and links to other resources.

Q. Is Boeing willing to discuss new job-security language with the IAM?
A. We would like to work with the IAM to study ways to stabilize employment and mitigate layoffs through the market cycles. This could include approaches such as flexible job rules that allow Boeing to keep employment levels stable and cost effective during market downturns and periods of slow growth.
We would like to find ways to stabilize the large swings in hiring and layoffs, and focus on continuous productivity improvements during market downturns. This will help us meet our commitments to customers and win new business, which is the only way to provide job security.
