One hundred years ago a young man named Bill Boeing attended the first organized air show held in the U.S. -- the Los Angeles International Air Meet. Although he left that without catching a ride on aviation pioneer Louis Paulhan's biplane, Boeing did catch a bug for aviation, and began a journey that led him to start what has become The Boeing Company -- the world's largest combined producer of commercial and military aircraft. Bill Boeing famously said that his company should not allow any advance in aviation pass it by. Every day, almost 160,000 Boeing employees find the ways to extend that legacy. Through the pages of www.boeing.com we will bring you some of their stories. Welcome to Boeing.
