Boeing’s P-8I maritime reconnaissance aircraft for the Indian Navy made its first flight on Sept. 28, 2011, taking off from Renton Field in Washington state and landing two-and-a-half hours later at Boeing Field in Seattle. The Indian government selected Boeing in January 2009 to provide eight P-8I aircraft to the Indian Navy, with the first to be delivered in 2013.
