A newly winged A-10 Thunderbolt was the center of attention during a recent rollout event at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, celebrating a partnership between the U.S. Air Force and Boeing Defense, Space & Security that will extend the life of the aircraft to 2040.
The twin-engine A-10 first flew in 1975, and has provided close air support for ground forces ever since. Boeing is under contract to design, build and deliver more than 200 wings sets for the A-10 fleet.
