The speed and agility of the CV-22 is proving a helpful combination in getting missions accomplished in half the time for the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC).
Since 2009, the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) has used the CV-22 Osprey for missions that were designated specifically for helicopters, which is great because the CV-22 maintains the critical landing capabilities of a helicopter, but it also combines the speed and cargo space of a fixed wing aircraft. This versatility along with the CV-22 advanced avionics systems make it very useful in executing long-range special operations missions.
