Super Hornet sustainment in Australia

Delivering 24 F/A-18F Super Hornets to Australia was just the first step toward providing the Royal Australian Air Force with mission-capable aircraft.

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) and Boeing St. Louis, along with the U.S. Navy, have been working together to deliver long-term support capabilities to meet the RAAF’s operational needs.

The Super Hornet sustainment support includes the Intermediate Level Maintenance facility at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland. "It’s a real achievement for Australia to be the first country outside of the U.S. to stand up this ILM capability," said Jim Gover, Trades Group Team lead for BDA. "It’s been a great team effort."

The partnership brought together the best of each organization, including the U.S. Navy’s operational experience, Boeing St. Louis’ design knowledge and BDA’s local talent and customer knowledge to provide logistics, engineering and maintenance capabilities.
