Welcome to Boeing's wind tunnel model shop in Seattle, where small-scale versions of future airplanes are built and tested.
Inside a nondescript Boeing building in Seattle, you'll find a team of skilled craftspeople who play a big part in ensuring that the company continues its legacy of technical achievement. It's the home of the Boeing Test & Evaluation wind tunnel model shop, where teammates bring the first incarnations of new Boeing products to life. These models may be small-scale versions of finished airplanes, but the team that creates these them must ensure that they faithfully replicate the features of the actual designs. That's because the models are tested in wind tunnels to ensure that Boeing's products provide the capabilities promised to its customers.
