Apaches continue to expand their presence around the world, with operators adding to their fleets or upgrading to the current and future configurations.

Ask Marco DiGabriele about Apache helicopter sales worldwide and he'll tell you the market remains strong, with defense forces worldwide either looking to the Apache to enhance their capabilities or existing customers planning for upgrades.

"That’s not just my view," says DiGabriele, who leads International Rotorcraft Business Development for Boeing, "it's the view of our experienced team in Mesa (Arizona) and Philadelphia who work in the trenches day in and day out to understand the needs of our customers."

DiGabriele, who took over the post last year, remains fully engaged himself, leading rotorcraft marketing efforts in Italy, noted, "We function as a team, covering the globe from Philadelphia and Mesa while using our combined experiences to make us even stronger."

Successes for Apache in 2009 included upgrade orders for several customers (not identified due to customer preferences), and contracts for additional U.S. Army and international orders that bolster the production base in Mesa.
