Recognition
2008 Awards:
- The P-8A Poseidon Environment, Safety and Occupational Health team received the Secretary of the Navy Award for Environmental Excellence and the Chief of Naval Operations Environmental Excellence in Weapon System Acquisition team award for exceptional environmental stewardship.
- The F/A-18E/F and EA-18G Acquisition Programs Green Hornet Team captured its fourth consecutive Chief of Naval Operations Environmental Excellence in Weapon System Acquisition team award.
- Five current and former Boeing employees--Steven Baughcum, Mikhail Danilin, Douglas DuBois, Stephen Henderson and Donald Sutkus--were presented certificates of appreciation by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for contributing substantially to the work leading to the Nobel Peace Prize awarded the IPCC in 2007 for its efforts on man-made climate change research.
- Boeing Huntsville received Air Pollution Control Achievement Awards from the City of Huntsville for energy conservation projects and employee education efforts.
- Local water quality awards were presented by water treatment districts to many Boeing sites, including Renton, Wash.; Palmdale/Edwards Air Force Base and El Segundo, Calif; El Paso, Tex; St. Charles and St. Louis, Missouri; and Wichita, Kan.
- Boeing San Antonio received Recognition for Recycling Excellence award from Vista Fibers for recycling 314 tons of paper products.
2007 Awards:
- Boeing Mesa captured an EPA Environmental Outstanding Achievement Award for its contributions to protecting the environment in Arizona
- Boeing Mesa received Clean Air Campaign Awards for Outstanding Trip Reduction and Outstanding Alternate Mode User (Bicyclist)
- Boeing's San Antonio site received the Alamo Area Council of Governments Environmental Stewardship Award
- Local water quality awards were presented by water treatment districts to many Boeing sites, including Portland, Ore; San Antonio and El Paso, Tex; and the 737 North Boeing Field Wastewater Treatment Plant
2006 Awards:
- The National Business Group on Health, a national non-profit organization, named Boeing one of the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles
- Boeing Mesa received the first annual Blue Sky Innovation Award from the State of Arizona
- The Boeing Rotorcraft Systems site in Mesa, Ariz., won a Governor's Pride in Arizona Award for its achievements in pollution prevention
- Boeing Mesa received the Best Workplaces for Commuters Award, Outstanding Vanpooler Award and Outstanding Bike Program Award
- Boeing's IDS sites in Puget Sound received the Environmental Excellence Award for Resource Conservation from the Association of Washington Business and the Environmental Achievement Award from the Air & Waste Management Association
2005 Awards:
- The US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) named Boeing one of its Best Workplaces for Commuters (for company programs that encourage HOV participation)
- The Secretary of Defense Environmental Excellence in Weapon Systems Acquisition Award was presented to the Boeing C-17 Program
- Vista Fibers presented Boeing's San Antonio Aerospace Support Center with an outstanding achievement award for the center's recycling efforts (recycling more than 180 tons of paper in 2004)
- The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) recognized Boeing's David Daggett, BCA for research on Mobile Energy and Emissions
- Local water quality awards were presented by water treatment districts to many Boeing sites, including St. Louis, MO; Palmdale, CA; Kent and Renton, WA
2004 Awards:
- Green Globe Award for environmental excellence to Renton, Wash. site (King County, Washington)
- Wastewater recycling and wastewater quality awards (3) for Wichita, Kansas site
- Wastewater quality awards (3) for Boeing Puget Sound, Wash., sites.
2003 Awards:
- Environmental Excellence Award to F/A-18 Patuxent River site (U.S. Navy)
- Award of Excellence for Oak Ridge, Tenn. site (Kentucky-Tennessee Water Environment Assoc.
