Airborne Early Warning & Control
Boeing’s 737 twin-engine Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system provides an all-weather surveillance, command-and-control and communications platform allowing on-board air battle managers to conduct planning, detection, coordination and control of forces and operations. The aircraft features multi-role electronically scanned array radar capable of simultaneous air and sea search, fighter control and area search. Originally designed for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Wedgetail, the 737 AEW&C was selected by the Turkish Air Force as Peace Eagle and the Republic of Korea Air Force as Peace Eye. Boeing’s 737 AEW&C is the standard for future airborne early warning systems.
