C-130 Avionics Modernization Program
Boeing's C-130 Avionics Modernization Program (AMP) was initiated to simplify and standardize multiple C-130 cockpit configurations in the U.S. Air Force fleet. Boeing's solution brings commonality to the C-130 fleet, modernizes cockpits built between 1964 and 1996 with Head-Up Eyes Out night vision capable displays and replaces old analog dials with six flat panel displays. C-130 AMP addresses all current and future Communication Navigation Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) requirements. It's significantly less expensive compared with new aircraft acquisition, and provides up to 25 percent savings in total cost and 50 percent reduction in aircraft downtime compared with separate upgrades.
