Cf252 SEE Test Chamber

Type of Simulator Cf-252 fission source and Am-241 alpha source
Application Single event effects
Test Object Size About 20cm diameter, with about 2cm diameter exposure area
General Description The BREL SEE test system is a Spectrum Sciences model 5005-TF test chamber.

It uses either Cf-252 or Am-241 sources and has been modified for improved input-output capability.

Devices are placed in a vacuum chamber and exposed to fission fragments and alpha particles to simulate the heavy ion cosmic ray environment found in space.
