Global Services & Support
Boeing Defense, Space & Security
Tony Parasida is the president of Boeing's Global Services & Support (GS&S), a business unit of Boeing Defense, Space & Security. This thriving business provides customers worldwide with a full spectrum of versatile products, services and total lifecycle solutions. GS&S is the Department of Defense's largest performance-based logistics contractor and an industry leader in providing sustainment solutions for Boeing and select non-Boeing platforms.
Comprised of three separate divisions: Integrated Logistics; Maintenance, Modifications & Upgrades; and Training Systems and Government Services; GS&S provides enduring support that begins at product inception and continues until the product retires from service. This support includes custom software development, infrastructure and range services, mission planning systems and Logistics Command and Control (Log C2). GS&S is the partner of choice for many international government agencies including the United Kingdom's Logistics Network Enabled Capability (Log NEC).
Under Parasida's leadership GS&S is implementing initiatives designed to make the business more competitive and more responsive to the needs of current and future customers.
GS&S has 295 locations worldwide including operations in Australia, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. Major subsidiaries of the business include Boeing Service Company, Boeing Aerospace Operations, Tapestry Solutions and Federated Software Group. Alsalam, a joint venture of Boeing, Saudi Arabian Airlines and other Saudi investors, is one of the most experienced maintenance, repair and overhaul companies in the Arabian Gulf region servicing commercial and military aircraft.
Innovations in training systems like the Virtual Mission Board, which provides full visualization of situational awareness and enables centralized mission command, and the Constant Resolution Visual System, which provides pilots with 20/40 acuity for a more realistic training experience, have been instrumental in winning new business for GS&S.
GS&S achievements in performance based logistics like F/A-18E/F Integrated Readiness Support Teaming (FIRST) and the C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program (GISP) are drawing the interest of prospective international customers. For 10 consecutive years the C-17 GISP has exceeded required readiness rates while reducing the ratio of dollars per flight hour.
Before joining GS&S in 2009, Parasida spent three years as vice president and general manager for Surveillance and Engagement Systems within Boeing Military Aircraft. Prior to that, Parasida was vice president of Maritime Systems.
Parasida joined Boeing in 1978 as a structures engineer on helicopter programs. Since that time, he has held numerous jobs of increasing responsibility within aircraft design, Integrated Product Team leadership and program management, including program manager for the V-22 Osprey and vice president of F/A-18 Hornet programs.
Parasida holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a master's degree in engineering management from Drexel University.
