Leanne Caret is Chief Financial Officer and vice president, Finance, for Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), a $33 billion business unit with 56,000 employees worldwide specializing in innovative and capabilities-driven customer solutions, and the world’s largest and most versatile manufacturer of military aircraft.
Caret is responsible for all financial activities of BDS, including its three businesses – Boeing Military Aircraft, Network & Space Systems, and Global Services & Support – as well as an advanced technology development organization known as Phantom Works. She leads an international organization of nearly 5,000 employees that includes teams in financial planning and analysis, accounting, estimating, contracts and pricing, integrated scheduling, rate forecasting, procurement financial analysis, and business operations and earned value management compliance.
Prior to her current assignment, Caret was vice president and general manager, Vertical Lift, a division of the Boeing Military Aircraft business unit. In this role she was responsible for business growth and program execution for a portfolio of cargo, tiltrotor and attack rotorcraft, including the AH-64 Apache, H-47 Chinook, AH-6, V-22 Osprey and SB>1 Defiant. Caret led a team of 4,000 employees, and international network of suppliers and partners focused on advancing rotorcraft technology to meet the current and future needs of customers around the globe.
Previously, Caret was vice president, Vertical Lift and the H-47 program manager. In this role she led the production and modernization efforts for the U.S. Army and Special Operations Forces Chinook programs, which include the CH-47F and MH-47G. In addition, Leanne directed activities for international programs in 18 countries operating Chinooks.
Leanne joined Boeing in 1988, and she holds a Bachelor of Business Management degree in Accounting from Kansas State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wichita State University. In addition, she has earned certifications from Harvard University in the Program for Leadership Development and the International Security Defense Program, as well as completing the Integral Leadership Program at the University of Notre Dame.
Leanne is Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors for AHS International – The Vertical Flight Technical Society, and is a member of Women in Aviation International. She also serves on the Widener University Board of Trustees.
