Puget Sound Community Involvement

Volunteer and Employee Engagement Programs

Boeing employees generously give their time and talents to help our communities in which we live, operate in, and support. They do this by collecting goods for those less fortunate, volunteering as a group to help a non-profit with yard work, cleaning, environmental cleanup, etc., or through skilled-based volunteerism directly with the non-profit or organization. Below are some of the programs we support through these efforts:

Employee Drives

  • Books: New books and monetary donations are collected and distributed to a local nonprofit that works with children's literacy.
  • Backpacks and School Supplies: Backpacks, school supplies, and monetary donations are collected so that less advantaged children will have the tools they need to succeed in school. Donations go to teachers in schools with a high percentage of low-income children.
  • Food: Food and monetary donations are collected and donated to local food distribution centers to distribute to area food banks and meal sites.
  • Holiday Gifts: Employees "adopt" families, seniors, and foster children by donating a gift to those less fortunate during the December holiday season.

  • Earth Day: Employee groups support the environment each year by volunteering with organizations with clean-up or restoration projects.
  • Skilled-Based Volunteers: Employees match their technical, professional, or trade skills with the needs of the local non-profits.
  • Other Community Service: Employee groups or individuals spent hours each year volunteering with local non-profit organizations. One such volunteer opportunity connects employees with local children through mentoring programs.
