Adventure Gaming

The Boeing Employees' Adventure Gaming Club - St. Louis is an organization set up to promote and expand the hobby of adventure gaming. Adventure games include classic board games; combat, political, economic, and sports simulations; miniatures conflict simulation systems; and fantasy role playing games. Club meetings are generally every other Thursday evening, 5 - 10 p.m., in the Bldg 033 Cafeteria.

Aerospace Orators

Aerospace Orators Toastmasters Club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 5:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in Building 106, Room 130. Special meetings (contests, picnic, awards banquet) may be held at other locations. Visitors are ALWAYS welcome. Please join us! Toastmasters International is the leading movement devoted to making effective oral communication a worldwide reality. Through its member clubs, Toastmasters International helps men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking -- vital skills that promote self-actualization, enhance leadership potential, foster human understanding and contribute to the betterment of humankind.

Amateur Astronomers

The Boeing Employees' Amateur Astronomers Club (BEAAC) offers a variety of amateur activities for employees interested in physical and theoretical astronomy and telescope observing. Each monthly meeting normally includes a presentation by a graduate student or professor from one of the local universities. Also, members plan for future activities such as group telescope observing sessions (or "star parties"), field trips, national conventions, etc. An astronomical door prize is awarded to a member at each meeting. Annual dues of only $5 entitle members to receive monthly meeting/activity notices, the use of club equipment (3", 6", 10", and 13" telescopes, books, and accessories) and access to astronomy magazines and other publications. Only current Boeing-St. Louis employees (including contract employees) and former MDC retirees are eligible to become members. Family and friends are always welcome visitors to club activities.

Amateur Radio

The Boeing Employees' Amateur Radio Society -- St. Louis is open to all persons interested in Amateur Radio. The club offers training classes for those people desiring to obtain an FCC (Federal Communications Commission) amateur radio license. The club supports a wide variety of activities ranging from emergency preparedness and public service events to contesting. The club operates a complete amateur radio station and VHF/UHF repeater systems on 147.06 Mhz. & 442.875 Mhz, PL141.3hz.

Archery

The purpose of the club is to foster, expand and perpetuate the sport of archery and the spirit of good fellowship among all archers and their families. Our shoots are geared more to fun and realistic hunting shots. You don't have to be a champion 3-D shooter or target archer. Bowhunter shoots comprising of scratch and handicap divisions are held February through September. Benefits include game harvest and club shoot awards, hunting and instructional videos, equipment checkout (arrow fletcher, straightener, and cutoff saw and misc. tools), not to mention the camaraderie at the shoots and club events providing an excellent opportunity to learn the state of the art of archery. Membership is $10 per year for your entire family. After July 31st, you have option to join for $15, this includes the next full year.

Basketball

Basketball leagues are formed in September and games are played from late October till early February. Participants must be Boeing employees, retirees, or contract/government/vendor workers stationed at Boeing in St. Louis. Games are played on Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings at the St. Louis Priory High School. The two league are Open Competitive (Sundays), and 6 Foot & Under (Thursdays). Bicycle

The Bicycle Club is for riders of all abilities. We generally have two or three rides per month. Our meetings are the second Monday of each month. We are primarily a recreational road club with day rides, however, during the year we have several rides on flat trails and at least one trail ride. Most rides involve a food or snack stop. The rides are usually Saturday mornings with some rides on Sunday afternoons or Tuesday evenings. Distances vary from 10 to 60 miles. The longer rides usually have shorter options.

Bridge

The Boeing Duplicate Bridge Club meets every Wednesday at 6:30 pm in Bridge Haven (396 Brookes Lane near the intersection of I-270 and Lindbergh). All present and retired Boeing/McDonnell Douglas employees and their dependents are welcome. You may also bring a friend. The Boeing Duplicate Bridge Club is a member of the American Contract Bridge League and offers master points to placed pairs in each game. The Club also conducts tournaments regularly and holds Christmas and other social gatherings for its members. Come and join us for an evening of fun and fellowship.

Clay Target

The Boeing Employees' Clay Target Club -- St. Louis, facilitates league shooting events and activities for active employees, retirees and other qualified participants. The Corporate league season runs for twenty weeks. Approximately mid-April to mid-September, with breaks to celebrate national holidays. The Boeing Employees' Clay Target Club currently has six teams, and 57 club members. Club membership is $20.00 annually. Teams compete in weekly matches on Thursday evenings. At the end of the season, trophies are awarded to the top teams, person with the highest average, and the most improved shooter. All league shooting activities are conducted at the Gateway Gun Club, in Bridgeton, MO. Cost per evening is $11.00 for league and club members. The $11.00 covers the cost of targets and facility usage. Ammunition is not included in the cost of the round. Gateway allows you the option to furnish your own ammunition, or you may purchase it from Gateway for a nominal fee. Gateway does allow the use of re-loaded shells.

Coin and Stamp

The Coin and Stamp club has been in operation about 30 years. The majority of members collect U.S. stamps but there are also members with significant coin and foreign stamp collections. There are always some beginning collectors in the club and the more experienced members are eager to share their knowledge. The club has an extensive library of coin and stamp reference books and catalogs which are available to members. Several meetings a year feature a slide or video program on coins or stamps. There are small auctions at most meetings where members dispose of unwanted pieces and acquire desired material. Other meetings during the year feature a silent auction, an advertised auction, and a "show and tell" program. Dues are $10 per year. The club meets at 7 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Computer

The purpose of our group is to further computer literacy and to promote the recreational use of personal computers by our members. This is accomplished primarily through an active exchange of information and through the varied activities that our members participate in. Both of our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) meet each month and visitors are welcome to attend the first meeting free. Membership is $10 per year for your entire family and starts Jan. 1st and ends Dec. 31st, memberships received in October/November/December are credited to next year.

Flag Football

Flag football leagues are formed in July and games played from August to October. Participants must be Boeing employees, retirees, or contract/government/vendor workers stationed at Boeing in St. Louis. Rules and regulations are USSSA Modified. Games are played at the Hazelwood Sports Complex on Tuesday evenings with rain-out games being played on Thursday evenings.

Flying Club

The Boeing Employees Flying Club (BEFC) was organized to provide pilots safe and affordable aircraft to fly. The club is open to all licensed and student pilots. The club is based out at Creve Coeur Airport, which is located north of the Page Extension and east of the Missouri river. The clubs aircraft can be used for training, local flying, extensive vacation trips and general personal transportation. The club has Certified Flight Instructors (CFI) to provide flight training. No previous flying experience is required.

Golf

The Golf Club consists of golf leagues and tournaments for those who are eligible for participation in Boeing Recreation activities. There are currently 19 leagues and 6 tournaments offered. Leagues are available after work Monday through Thursday at nine local courses. Most leagues run from April through August or early September. All leagues are "equal-opportunity." Tournaments are scheduled approximately once a month from April through October. Tournaments are usually 18 holes in various formats and flighted by handicap. Players generally have the choice of playing on Saturday or Sunday in each tournament. In mid-September, a Boeing -- St. Louis Championship tournament is held. There is a team competition for the winning teams from each league to determine the Team Champion. There is also an individual stroke play competition to determine the "Golfer of the Year." Low Gross winners from each league and each tournament are eligible for the Golfer of the Year. The Golf Executive Council is responsible for maintaining the local rules for leagues and tournaments and for specifying the method used to calculate handicaps.

Handball/Racquetball/Wallyball

The Boeing Handball/Racquetball/Wallyball Club is open to any Boeing employee, government/vendor employee assigned to Boeing, and all Boeing/MDC retirees. There are no membership fees. You automatically become a member when you play in a club-sponsored league. Leagues are formed 3 times a year. Spring session begins in mid-January and continues until the beginning of April. Summer session begins in mid-April and continues through July or the beginning of August. Fall session begins in late August and ends prior to the Christmas holiday. Registration forms are sent out to all club members a few weeks prior to each league session.

Jazzercise

The Boeing Employees' Jazzercise Club -- St. Louis offers Jazzercise classes to all employees. Classes are held in the Building 33 cafeteria on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:15 -- 6:15 p.m. New members are welcome to come and try out a class for free before signing up. Jazzercise is a total-body conditioning program, which is uniquely designed to benefit participants at all fitness levels, providing an excellent workout in a fun format, and contributing to both physical and mental well-being. Jazzercise is for everybody -- men, women, all ages, all fitness levels. Each class features lively aerobic dance routines and strength training, with new and exciting choreography, under the direction of a certified instructor.

Kenpo Karate

The Boeing Employees' Kenpo Karate Club meets at World Arts school in the Hazelwood Office Complex at 270 and Lynn Haven in Hazelwood. It meets every Tuesday night from 5:30pm to 7:00pm and is divided into two sessions: from 5:30pm until 6:30pm , we do exercises, warm-up, and stretching, followed by basic blocks, kicks, and punches. We also practice combinations of the preceding techniques which are useful in sparring or on the street. From 6:30pm until 7:00pm. we have techniques class. During this phase, we divide up according to belt rank and practice the specific self-defense techniques and kata which are necessary to obtain the belt ranks. Dress as you would for any workout, wearing sweat pants and a light-weight shirt (NO SHORTS, PLEASE!). Enrollment is open year round. Musical Performance Club

The Musical Performance Club provides Boeing employees, spouses, dependents, retirees and contractors with opportunities to rehearse and perform with a variety of musical groups. The club currently includes four active performing groups: a concert band, the Balladeers (chorus), a jazz band, and a brass quintet. Other groups (instrumental and choral) can be formed if there is an interest. Each group is composed of musicians with diverse talent levels, and new vocal and instrumental musicians of all ability levels are welcome to join us. Auditions are not required. Weekly rehearsals are held in Building 110A cafeteria.

Phantom Flyers Radio Control

The Phantom Flyers Radio Controlled Model Airplane Club was founded in 1956 with the objective of promoting model aeronautics in St. Louis and vicinity. The Club is chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), the national organization governing the promotion and advancement of model aviation in the United States. The Club offers assistance in selecting, building and flying of model aircraft for people of all skill levels. The Club also sponsors a variety of flying and non-flying events throughout the year including Meetings, BBQs, Fun-Flys, Build-A-Plane Contest, and a Precision Aerobatics Competition that is held annually for over the past 50 years. The Club meets the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. either at the flying field or at Mark Twain Hobby Shop in St. Charles, MO. See club web site for the current meeting location. In addition to the normal business meeting, there is a technical session and usually a show and tell by members who bring their latest flying and non-flying creation(s). The Boeing Employees' Railroad Club is an organization dedicated to the exchange and enjoyment of all information concerning prototype and model railroading, and other railroad related activities as a hobby. The club offers a variety of benefits to its members including an extensive video tape library, a book and magazine library, specialized model building tools, club sponsored rail trips on Amtrak, club sponsored rail-fan trips, model contests, modular layouts in both HO and N scales, and a monthly newsletter. Members' interests range from model railroading in all scales, photography, excursions by trains, to working on actual railroad cars and locomotives.

Club charter is to promote firearms safety and markmanship through organized competitive events and participation in the U.S. Army Department of Civilian Marksmanship program. Running

The Boeing Employees Adventure Runners Club provides The Boeing Company of Saint Louis, Missouri a Runners Club which will provide a safe, fun, and unbiased extracurricular activity. The Runners Club invites Boeing employees, immediate family members, and retirees to join us at our Wednesday evening group run. We start running from Creve Coeur Lake Park's Tremayne Shelter at 4:30 PM. The Wednesday club run takes place year-round. There are restrooms located close to Tremayne Shelter for changing prior to the weekly run. In addition to our weekly club run, there are a lot of exciting events that the club engages in on a monthly basis. Join the Runners Club, meet new people and get active.

Saddle

The Boeing Employees' Saddle Club St. Louis is designed for everyone that has an interest in horses and a desire to learn more while having FUN. The activities planned are for children and adults, experienced or inexperienced, horse owners or not. Currently we are planning exciting Field Trips, Trail Rides, Tours, 4th of July Parade, Dinner and a Movie, St. Jude Charity Trail Ride and our annual Christmas Party. Yearly dues are $15.00 for an Individual or $20.00 for a Family or Associate Membership.

Sailing

The Boeing Employees' Sailing Club -- St. Louis offers interested persons the opportunity to learn about and improve their sailing skills. The club offers sailing classes in the spring. These lessons include classroom instruction as well as "on the water" sessions. Students learn the basics of sailing and by graduation are qualified to check out a club boat and sail it. A Wednesday evening race series is held during the summer months. Racing is the fastest way to improve one's skills and we encourage our new members to sign up for this exciting event. Beginners are teamed with an experienced skipper and compete on a rotation basis. The new skipper improves his or her sailing skills quickly while enjoying the social aspect of these weekly events comparing sea stories with their peers and the "old salts" of the club. The club maintains a fleet of 7 boats which are used for the classes, the race series and for rental. Once checked out in one of the club boats the member may rent that boat for either the Sunday races or for a day sail with friends or family. The club holds several special events at the harbor each year which feature on-the-water activities plus an opportunity to socialize with the other members of the club. The club also has a fine collection of videos, books and magazines which are available for checkout.

Scuba

The SCUBA Club promotes participation in the active sport of SCUBA (Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) and Skin Diving (snorkeling). As divers, we experience the excitement and adventure of safely exploring inner space -- the other three-quarters of our planet where fantastic beauty awaits, and an infinite variety of lives abound. Oceans, rivers, seas, lakes, and quarries hold submerged habitats that will capture your interest and stimulate your imagination for a lifetime. The Scubaneers sponsor monthly local dive events during the May-October dive season and a one-week trip to a Caribbean destination most years. Club sponsored training, lead by a PADI-certified Instructor with a staff who has over 80 years of combined diving experience, gives members and their family the opportunity for continuing their dive education as they progress from Open Water certification through Advance Open Water, Rescue Diver and perhaps Dive Master certification. Many Specialty certification classes are offered including Enriched Air, Night Diver, Deep Diver, U/W Navigation, and Wreck Diver. See our web site for all the available training opportunities. Ski

The Boeing Employees' Ski Club is dedicated to providing its members exciting ski vacations at competitive prices. We have access to wholesale pricing and volume discounts that yield exceptional values! All of our trips include the following: round-trip air and ground transportation, lift tickets (typically 5-day passes for full week trips, 4-day passes for long weekend trips), lodging (typically 7 nights for full week, 4 nights for long weekend), club NASTAR race and several fun-filled parties. If you have always wanted to try skiing, this is your ticket! We have skiers of all ability levels in the club, ranging in age from 6 to 65. You're never too old or young to experience the sport! Our club is an extended family of outdoor enthusiasts that meets year-around. We have scheduled activities most every month including ice-skating parties, Katy Trail bike rides, Cardinal baseball games, golf outings and inline skating events. We have frequent social hours and three big parties for the year: the trip sign-up night in August, the pre-season party in November and the post-season party in April-May (to swap trip stories and share pictures).

Slo-Pitch Softball leagues are formed in March and games played from May through August. Participants must be Boeing employees, retirees, or contract/government/ vendor workers stationed at Boeing in St. Louis. Games are played at the Bridgeton Municipal Athletic Complex. Other sites may be determined based upon need. Leagues and umpires play under USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) guidelines.

Tennis

The Boeing Employees' Tennis Club offers a variety of programs for Boeing employees and retirees including indoor and outdoor leagues at area clubs, regularly scheduled tournaments and parties, and ladder and corporate team competition. Membership is by calender year. The Club offers a number of member services including professional instruction, corporate membership rates at area clubs, discounts at area tennis stores, a ball-serving machine and a video library. Indoor leagues run annually from September through May. Leagues are open to government/supplier employees assigned to Boeing. Some programs are open to immediate family members.

Volleyball leagues are formed in September and games played from October through March. Participants must be Boeing employees, retirees, or contract/government/ vendor workers stationed at Boeing in St. Louis. Spouses can play but participation is limited to the same team as the employee. Games are played at the University of Missouri, St. Louis on Sunday evenings.
