Bass Fishing Club

The Wichita Employees Bass Fishing Club was founded in 1993 to provide a competitive avenue for it's members to learn better fishing techniques and have fun without the need to belong to professional organizations and pay high entry fees. Typically 10 tournaments are scheduled per year from March to October on Kansas State Fishing Lakes, Reservoirs and lakes in Northern Oklahoma and Western Missouri. Some of these tournaments are one day and some are two day with overnight camping. We use a paper tournament system to best support Catch and Release. Members with and without boats are randomly drawn and paired for each tournament. At the end of the year, awards are given to the top fishermen and the winners at the end of year Classic Tournament. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Boeing Fitness/Recreation Center. Annual dues are $10 for Boeing employees, retirees, people who work for subsidiaries or partners, Military service persons, and non-employees with approval.

Flying Club

The Boeing Employees' Flying Club (BEFC) has been in operation for over 25 years and currently owns and operates 6 aircraft that are home based at the Augusta Municipal Airport. The club offers its membership excellent pilot certification courses with Flight Instructors ready, willing and able to teach flying, literally from the ground up. Being a non-profit organization we are able to keep our rates substantially lower than those of other aircraft rental and pilot training operations. Activities include bi-annual membership meetings, bomb drop and spot landing contests, breakfast fly-ins and much more. Whether you are interested in becoming a pilot or already are a pilot, BEFC has something for you. More information is available on our web site and through our membership officer.

Handicapped Golf League

The BEHGL is a recreational golf league that exists to provide an opportunity for qualifying personnel to compete in a series of friendly golf matches throughout each golfing season. Prizes are awarded at the end of each season to members of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. In addition, special awards are given to individual members of the League for various achievements. Three tournaments are scheduled during the course of the season to provide additional opportunities to receive awards and to provide a change in format to the normal stroke play adopted by the League. The BEHGL plays for twenty-one weeks on Thursday evenings at Hidden Lakes Golf Course beginning the Thursday after the commencement of Daylight Savings Time.

Typically 5-8 matches are held per year and format varies to allow more individual opportunities to win.
