Boeing

'Links' to Tradition

By Mike Steckline

December 2015

Many years ago, it seems, a wonderful group of Renton, Wash., Boeing employees came together to play the first Boeing Classic golf tournament at a local golf course. That day many people from Engineering, Tooling, Material, Manufacturing, the factory and the Change Board (which approves changes to the airplane in the context of what those changes will mean for production) may have helped start a tradition that lives on today -- but that has grown and evolved.

I still have the score cards from that day, and after adjusting numbers, I see that the Change Board finally won! It only took 25 years to announce the winners!
