Boeing

A Stash to Cherish

April 2016

My father, Juris M. Delle, worked for Boeing in Customer Support for various divisions from 1964 until his death in 1989. He was so proud to work for Boeing and was thrilled to be representing the company to others in the aviation industry. His hard work and Boeing have made it possible for my mother to still live in the home Boeing bought in 1981!

I knew he had all kinds of Boeing-branded doodads he'd give his customer contacts with companies like Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney and different airlines. His collection includes Boeing items as well as items he received from other companies.

I didn't realize until after his death how cherished his "stash" would become to me. I kept finding all kinds of interesting things. The centerpiece(s) of the collection has to be his employee service pins for five, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years. The five- and 10-year pins have the screw nut and post backings and are 10K gold. Also included are commemorative coins, key chains, sterling silver tie tacks of different planes, a watch and other miscellaneous pins. There's even a pair of folding Boeing scissors. Believe it or not, there's more: I have stickers and magnets and even some Boeing bees!

Boeing pins, coins and other memorabilia from the 1980s were passed down from Juris M. Delle to his daughter, Monike Delle.
