SEATTLE, March 29, 2005 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Oman Air today announced the delivery of the airline's sixth Next-Generation 737. Oman Air's new 737-800 left Seattle Friday on a shuttle flight that arrived at Seeb International Airport in Muscat, Oman, on Sunday.

Oman Air's latest Boeing 737-800 was an additional purchase added to a five-airplane order and was arranged through the U.S. Ex-Im Bank. Oman Air now flies an all-Boeing jet fleet of six Next-Generation 737s, making it one of the most modern fleets in the region. Oman Air introduced the Next-Generation 737 to the Gulf region, with its first delivery taking place during the fourth quarter of 2001.

Oman Air CEO Abdul Rahman Al Busaidy has praised the 737 for its operational efficiency. "The new 737s were the perfect choice for us to meet the goals we outlined in our fleet expansion plan," said Mr. Al Busaidy. "The airplane has unmatched reliability and its overall operating efficiency, as well as the support from Boeing, lends much to our ability to operate profitably."

Boeing's 737 family of airplanes leads the single-aisle market as the most modern and highly efficient jetliner in its class.

"Our working relationship with Oman Air remains strong and we are pleased that they are realizing the proven economics of operating the 737," said Lee Monson, Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice president of sales for the Middle East and Africa . "We look forward to continue working jointly with the airline as they execute their plans for profitability and growth."

Oman Air utilizes their new 737s on routes throughout the Middle East, East Africa and the Indian sub-continent.
