LanChile Takes Delivery Of Boeing 767-300 Freighter

SEATTLE, Aug. 01, 2001 -- Boeing delivered the first of three new 767-300 Freighters for LanChile Airlines July 31, 2001. The first and second airplanes are direct purchases, and the third will be leased through GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS). The combined order value is $365 million. LanChile already operates three 767-300 Freighters as well as 12 767-300 passenger airplanes. The new airplanes will help the airline expand its growing freight business in Latin America and the United States.

The 767-300 Freighter is based on the popular 767-300ER (extended range) passenger twinjet and benefits from the 767's established schedule or "dispatch" reliability, performance and operational advantages. Schedule reliability - an industry measure of departure from the gate within 15 minutes of scheduled time - is nearly 99 percent for the 767. The 767-300 Freighter offers very low community noise and excellent fuel economy, and it is the only 60-ton freighter with international capability.
