The ANFG met to develop the assumptions for the cost/benefit analysis of BRNAV and RNAV/VNAV. Discussions included the assumptions for the equipage, infrastructure, costs, and benefits models. WORD and Powerpoint 4.0

March 29-30, 1999, Advanced Navigation Focus Group, Everett, WA

The group defined a progression of "capabilities" e.g. B-RNAV -> RNAV/VNAV ->RNP ->XLS. Benefits were assigned to both the capabilities and to the RNP types. A NWA scenario of RNAV/VNAV overlays was selected as the initial scenario to model. A second scenario is for RNP 1 terminal area transitions. A Focus Group schedule and actions were established to have the RNAV/VNAV scenario presented at the next core meeting. WORD
