Operations Analysis Focus Group
Papers and Presentations
In addition to the official meeting minutes posted on the
Minutes page, this page contains a variety of
papers and presentations. Generally speaking, the list runs backwards
chronologically, so that the most recent material is at the top.
On Oct. 6, 2000, there was a telecon of
the group. For that event there were a number of files circulated which
provided supporting data to be discussed. Here are the files that were shared:
- Top 200 Passenger Flows - provides data by
three different measurements: pax trips, revenue, and itinerary miles
(equivalent of RPMs). There are two worksheets in the file; the first lists the
top 200 Origin/Destinations for each measure, ranked in order by that measure;
the second worksheet lists the O/Ds that are in the top 200 for ANY of the three
measures.
- Top Flight O/D Pairs - lists flight O/D info.
Three measures are used: number of flights, number of seats, and number of
available seat miles (ASM). The data were taken from the 8/24/00 OAG, and thus
are the number "per day". The file contains two worksheets. The
first lists data for flights flown by jets only, irrespective of size; the
second lists data for all flights by any aircraft. Codeshare duplicate flight
entries have been eliminated.
- Market Graphics shows plots of the
markets across the US for each of the six key measures above. There are several
charts for each measure: the top 10 O/Ds, the top 25, 50, etc.
- Choke Points 1 |
Choke Points 2 | Text
description of Choke Points - These two graphics, plus text, describe the
seven choke points identified by NAS users, FAA, and NATCA representatives.
These are currently receiving priority treatment.
- Origin/Destination Survey for 4th Quarter 1999
- this extract from the DOT website is of the top 1,000 city-pairs, plus any
that have been in the top 1,000 (about 1,250 total). The filters employed are
listed at the top. The file is currently sorted by revenue and RPMs, highest to
lowest.
- Worst Cities for Delays - ranked by number
of delays. Included are the minutes of delay, using FAA's OPSNET.
- Schedule Creep for a Weekday in April
- Schedule Creep for a Weekday in June
