Southwest Airlines Converts Options to Orders for 79 Boeing 737s

SEATTLE, April 20, 2006 -- Low cost carrier Southwest added 79 737-700s to its order book this morning by converting 79 options to firm orders. It now has 140 737-700s on order. In February, Southwest took delivery of the 5,000th Boeing 737, pictured. Later this year, Southwest is scheduled to receive the Boeing's 2,000th Next-Generation 737.
