SEATTLE, June 25, 2008 -- A delegation of Shanghai Airlines' personnel, Boeing [NYSE: BA] employees and members of the Tacoma, Wash.-based Washington-Sichuan Friendship Association proudly pose before the airline's newly delivered 737-800 on June 13 as the plane's cargo hold is filled with 2,400 pounds of cone masks. The event marked Boeing's third Flight of Hope -- a collaborative relief flight program between Boeing, its airline customers and nonprofit organizations to provide humanitarian aid in China by filling the empty cargo spaces of newly delivered airplanes with relief materials. The masks will provide some China earthquake disaster relief and will be distributed, once delivered, in needed areas by the Sichuan Charity Federation.
