SEATTLE, Feb. 28, 2009 -- The family of Boeing employee Michael Hemmer, who was injured this week in the crash of Turkish Airlines Flight 1951, asked the company to issue the following statement to the greater Seattle and Boeing communities:
"On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to thank you for your best wishes and prayers for Michael, who continues to respond well to treatment in the hospital. We appreciate the continuation of those prayers, not only for my husband and our family, but also his Boeing colleagues. We would also like to offer out heartfelt sympathies to the Richey, Salman and Wilson families and friends for their great loss in this tragic accident.
At this time, my family and I are requesting privacy from the media so our family and friends can come to terms with this difficult time. Thank you.
