NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

Aircraft with maximum takeoff weight of 18 tons and above when using runway 18R for takeoff shall comply with the following procedures:

1. Strictly apply the noise abatement techniques for takeoff and climb out applicable to the type of aircraft being flown.

2. When jet planes take off from Runway 18, the procedures here under should be followed.

(1) At the height of 450m adjusting thrust and flaps for a takeoff, then climbing up at the speed between V2+10KT and V2+20KT.

(2) At the height of 450m decelerating to keep up climb thrust.

(3) Between the height of 450 and 900 meters climbing at the speed between V2+10KT and V2+20KT.

(4) At the height of 900 meters adjusting the flaps and speeding up to the air route climbing speed according to relevant rules.

3. When an aircraft uses Runway 18 to take off, the air track must strictly be kept up to the extending lin of the centerline of the runway. After flying over the Remote South Station DK and DME 4.9 ILG, the aircraft can take the first turn before following the departure procedures to depart.

NOISE MONITORING SYSTEM
Beijing Capital International Airport Noise and Operations Monitoring System (NOMS) was installed in 2007. It contains a central monitoring and control station with 21 permanent noise monitors built at various locations around the airport and a portable noise monitor.

FLIGHT TRACK MONITORING SYSTEM

NOISE LEVEL LIMITS

Noise level limits vary in different areas.

1) Category I Area (Special residential areas including cultural and eductional areas): the noise level should be below 70 dB.

2) Category II Areas (Other areas apart from Category I Area): the noise level can not exceed 75 dB.
