NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES - NONE
CONTINUOUS DESCENT ARRIVAL (CDA) - NO
| The airport does not have a published procedure for
CDA approaches. The main reason is because of the structure of the
airspace in the Belfast TMA.
NATS defines a CDA approach as an approach which allows aircraft
to descend from an altitude of 6000’ with either no level
flight or with one phase of level flight not greater than 2.5
miles.
The operations at Belfast City airport preclude descent below
4000’ being allocated until aircraft have passed the City
area. This would create obvious difficulties for publishing CDA
approaches to 25.
Similarly, whenever using 07, City will normally be using 04,
creating difficulties in devising CDA approaches.
