To comply with an FAA Record of Decision published August 2000 in connection with Runway 15R/33L the Houston Airport System was required to purchase 157 residential dwellings and to relocate the residents. The purchase of the houses is complete and, along with vacant lots purchased voluntarily, resulted in the acquisition of a total of approximately 243 acres of land.
