NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

To eliminate complaints of noise nuisance, particularly at night, from those residents living in the suburbs of Nairobi, the following instructions will be incorporated in ATC clearances to high performance aircraft whose track necessitates a climb out over the built up area of Nairobi.

Takeoff Runway 24:

a) Left turn after takeoff set course over the VOR (NV) or

b) Take up a VOT radial of 209 degree and maintain this radial until reaching flight level 95 before commencing a right hand turn.

Takeoff Runway 06:

a) Climb straight ahead to a height of 7500 feet QNH before commencing a left hand turn.
