COMMENTS
Information provided by the airport.
Bolivia has six main airports, this plus Santa Cruz (Viru Viru), Cochabamba, Trinidad, Sucre and Tarija. None of these airports have a noise monitoring system and there are no plans to install a system. There are no ramp noise rules, pending restrictions or APU operating restrictions.
This airport has at this time, 30 commerical jet landings a day. Due to the airport location at a highland of 4000 meters altitude and the city down at 3600 meters, aircraft noise is not considered a problem, so. However we are planning to study this matter.
The airport enclosed with their response to our request for information on noise restrictions was a copy of Chapter 10 from a study made for the airport by Pacific Consultant International:
Chapter 10 Supplementary Considerations
10.1 General
This chapter presents the results of the study on aircraft noise influence, land use of the area surrounding the airport and airport organization.

10.2 Aircraft Noise
Development of aircraft noise contours measured in Weighted Equivalent Continuous Preceived Noise Level (WECPNL). At the present time, a densely populated area located to the east and south-east of the airport is covered by the noise level of WECPNL 70. The northern part of a residential area provided by CONAVI (Concejo Nacional de Vivienda, National Housing Bureau of the Ministry of Urbanization and Housing) is also within the noise level of WECPNL 70.

In the year 2005, the noise contour of WECPNL will extend to approx. 7.5km west of the runway 09 threshold and approx. 2.5km east of the runway 27 threshold. The total area covered by WECPNL more than 70 will increase 1.6 times the present level.
