NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES
| Noise Abatement Procedures Effective November 14, 1993
Noise Sensitive Land Uses:
Whenever possible, please avoid overflight of the close-in noise
sensitive areas.
Fixed-wing departure procedures ( turbojets and aircraft larger
than 12,500 lbs.):
For VFR or IFR turbojet departures on runway 32, all initial turns,
including turns to the crosswind leg of touch and go patterns,
are to be delayed until reaching 2,000 ft.or pattern altitude,
unless directed otherwise by Air Traffic Control. Runway 36 will
only be available for turbo prop/turbojets when runway 32 is unavailable.
Fixed-wing arrival procedures ( turbojets and aircraft larger
than 12,500 lbs.):
When using runway 14, all final legs of arrivals and touch and
go patterns shall be made with a final straight segment of 2 miles,
unless directed otherwise by Air Traffic Control.
Turbojet aircraft departures:
The Mobile Airport Authority recommends that pilots of turbojet
powered aircraft follow noise abatement departure procedures as
described in either:
a) FAA AC 91-53
b) (for operators of corporate jets) NBAA-published noise abatement
procedures or
c) aircraft type specific noise abatement procedures developed
by airlines or manufactures.
