NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES - NONE

CONTINUOUS DESCENT ARRIVAL (CDA) - NONE
There is an experimentation in progress, involving a local working group. A few CDAs have been flight tested between an IAF (FL150) down to 4000 ft. (merge point altitude) and ILS interception point (both glide and loc). Further we would like to conect the CDAs to a final visual approach (according to weather conditions and ATC capacity at the current time of approach) , wich would be "perfect idle set approach". Now, next step is to calculate fuel burn savings, (air quality managment) airspace and airport capacity restrictions and noise benefit.
One CDA is expected to be publishied early 2009, CDAs sould be cleared at any time of the day, according to traffic regulations.

TAX ON AIR NOISE POLLUTION - click here for the details

This charge is in addition to the landing fee which is based on the aircraft's acoustic group.

The formula for the noise tax which is applied to each take-off:

Tax = b x t x log(MTOW)
t= Unit rate: EUR .050 (adjusted each year based on the domestic retail price index)
b= Coefficient according to the departure time and to the acoustic group to which the aircraft belongs.

NOISE MONITORING SYSTEM

- Aircraft noise and track monitoring in real time. Replay mode available.
- Report and complain module
- 5 fixed noise monitoring terminal (located in Entzheim, Lingolsheim ,Innenheim, Koenigshoffen and Duppigheim) + 1 mobile unit
- Operative since January 1st, 2002.

The airport publishes a monthly report available on their website (http://www.strasbourg.aeroport.fr/E/index_E.html) that includes:

- Movements distributed over time slots;
- Nightly noise events, the maximum level of which is above 85 dB(A);
- A detailed list of flights from 23:00 to 6:00 (commented);
- Monthly results of the measurements taken by the fixed stations (since January 2003);
- Results from the mobile station and fixed stations;
