Advanced AMI Authorship using the Ground Based Software Tool (GBST)

This course prepares the trainee to design, compile, test and release Airplane Condition Monitoring Function (ACMF) Airline Modifiable Information (AMI) using the Ground Based Software Tool (GBST) both for the B777 and the B787. The course includes a combination of lecture, discussion and practical exercises. Students should come to class equipped with personal laptop computers with the GBST software installed and functional.

GBST for the B777 is procured from Honeywell. GBST for the B787 is from Boeing through the eEnabling deployment team.

This course prepares a technician, with an A & P license (or equivalent) and two years experience on transport aircraft, to perform inspections on transport aircraft. Trainees receive a foundation in locating approved data utilizing various aircraft manuals to make decisions concerning the airworthiness of repairs. Information is provided on non-destructive testing (NDT), x-ray, dye penetrant, magnetic, and other types of inspections. Hands on inspection of various types of fasteners, patches, corrosion, component installation, wire terminations, and splices will be done in the classroom.

Introduction to Aircraft Drawings

This course provides the student with the skills to locate, identify, and interpret the correct drawing for a specific aircraft. The course includes classroom instruction, demonstrations, and student practice sessions on all aspects of the Boeing drawing systems. This includes but is not limited to detail parts, assemblies and installations, structure, wiring, tubing, tooling, and composite drawings. A significant amount of classroom time will be spent working with actual Boeing drawings and parts list, performing exercises to locate information within those drawings and parts lists and solving drawing problems. The drawings will be in electronic form downloaded from the Boeing on-line drawing system (REDARS).
