Space Simulation Chambers - 30 x 40 Ft.
Space Chamber A simulates space and thermal environment for large test articles.
- Test capacity: 30 ft diameter by 40 ft high.
- Vacuum level: less than 1 x 10-7 Torr.
- Thermal capability: 280 kW heatsink at -195°C.
- Pumping capability: three 20-inch cryopumps - 30,000 L/s (N2); 20k gaseous helium array - 4.2 x 106 L/s (N2).
- Work environment: class 100,000 cleanroom with a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.
- Additional capabilities: a 7000 solar array providing 7-ft diameter nominal beam.
- Thermal systems: 36 channels of ac power with total capacity of 2 MW, 177 channels of dc power with total capacity of 285 kW.
