Supplier Expectations for AOG and Spares Procurement
The world fleet of aircraft runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. We work together with our partners to ensure our customers receive spare parts as quickly as possible. Within the Boeing production system, there are several levels of priority for spares procurement. Here are the supplier expectations for each priority level of spares procurement.
AOG (Aircraft on Ground)
An AOG is the highest spares priority. The seller will expend best effort to provide the earliest possible shipment of any spare designated an AOG by Boeing. Such effort includes, but is not limited to, working 24 hours a day, seven days a week and use of premium transportation. The seller shall specify the delivery date of any AOG spare within two hours of receiving the AOG spare request.
Critical
A spare designated Critical means an imminent AOG work stoppage. The seller will expend best effort to provide the earliest possible shipment of any spare designated Critical by Boeing. Such effort includes, but is not limited to, working two shifts per day, five days a week and use of premium transportation. The seller shall specify the delivery date of any Critical spare the same working day the Critical spare request was received.
Expedite (Class I)
An Expedite (Class I) refers to a spare required in less than the seller's normal lead time. The seller will expend best effort to meet the requested shipment date. Such effort includes but is not limited to working overtime and use of premium transportation.
Routine (Class III)
A Routine (Class III) refers to a spare required in the seller's normal lead time.
POA Requirement
A POA requirement refers to any detail component needed to replace a component or an End Item Assembly currently in Boeing's assembly line process. The seller shall expend best effort to provide the earliest possible delivery of any spare designated as POA by Boeing. Such effort includes but is not limited to working 24 hours a day, seven days a week and the use of premium transportation. The seller shall specify the delivery date of any POA within two hours of receiving the POA request.
Spares Reclassification or Re-Exercises
Boeing may instruct the seller to re-prioritize or reclassify an existing requirement to improve or change the established shipping schedule. The seller shall expend the effort needed to meet the revised requirement as described above within the definition for each spares category. The seller shall commit to a delivery schedule within the time limit described for each specific spares category above. Under no circumstances shall the delivery commitment schedule exceed 24 hours from the time of notification from Boeing.
