Tom Bell is senior vice president of Global Sales & Marketing for Defense, Space & Security (BDS). This 48,000-employee business is a broad-spectrum security provider for U.S. and international customers worldwide.

Bell reports to the CEO and leads the global BDS team focused on positioning the company to serve customers' needs by gaining unparalleled customer understanding. Around the world, his organization listens intently, advocates customer views, helps develop and resource customer solutions and drives all BDS business capture efforts.

Earlier in his Boeing career, Bell was vice president of Strategy and Business Capture for BDS, with responsibility for both strategy development and capturing new business opportunities for Boeing’s defense business. Prior to that role, he had assignments as vice president of Business Development for Boeing Military Aircraft and vice president of Business Development for Global Services & Support. Since originally joining Boeing in 1988, Bell also served in Contracts and Pricing; Industrial Participation; and International Business Development, including assignments in Finland and the United Kingdom, where he served as president of Operations for Boeing Aerospace UK, Ltd.

Prior to rejoining Boeing in June 2015, Bell was the president of Rolls-Royce Defense with overall responsibility for Rolls-Royce's global defense aerospace business.

Bell began his aerospace career with Lockheed Martin in New Orleans in Manned Space Flight. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and business from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, and a master’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in international contracts, from the Florida Institute of Technology. Bell serves on the Board of Trustees for the National Defense Industrial Association.
