Kevin Varney serves as Chief of Staff for Government Operations for The Boeing Company, reporting to Senior Vice President for Government Operations, Tim Keating. Varney joined Boeing as director, International Operations, in 2015. As Chief of Staff, Kevin supports the Senior Vice President for Government Operations on administrative and operational efforts on behalf of Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Defense Systems.

Kevin has over 20 years of executive experience in international finance and national politics. From 2013 to 2015 he led the firm 32 Advisors’ International Trade and Government Affairs practice, which assists international companies, institutions and sovereign wealth funds in accessing, navigating and structuring international financing and government relations.

Prior to joining 32 Advisors, Kevin served as Senior Vice President & Chief of Staff at the U.S. Export-Import Bank, and was the principal economic, political and communications advisor to the Chairman and President of the bank. He was a delegate to the US - China Strategic & Economic Dialogue from 2009- 2012. Kevin’s public service also includes positions as senior advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury and a senior staff member of the White House National Economic Council under President Clinton.

Kevin was President of CMG LLC, an international trade and advisory firm to companies and organizations including Google, Daimler-Benz, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Aspen Institute.

Kevin earned his MBA with a concentration in finance from Johns Hopkins University, attended the London School of Economics, and is a graduate of the University of Utah.
