Primary & Secondary Education

The Boeing Company invests more than $2 million annually in this focus area, through cash grants, sponsorships and in-kind products and services. In addition, Boeing provides leadership in community conversations about education improvement and reform efforts. Boeing employees are expert in improving systems and we seek to apply those strengths to create higher quality educational opportunities for all.

Local Strategies

Boeing seeks to invest in proven strategies being implemented by qualified education professionals, either working within school districts or in collaborations between school districts and 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies. Primary approaches to improving the quality of primary and secondary education include:

  1. 1. Improved and aligned systems, such as statewide improvement efforts to ease transitions for students into and beyond the primary and secondary education system; alignment of curriculum across systems and grade levels, particularly with consideration to international standards; and improvement in efficiency and transparency in school systems
  2. 2. High standards and expectations, such as efforts to increase student aspirations to prepare for college and career opportunities; community involvement and accountability measures to ensure academic progress; and integration of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) content into overall academic programs, as well as multi-disciplinary programs linked to other Boeing focus area strategies
  3. 3. Educator efficacy, such as teacher quality and support programs providing training, particularly in the areas of math and science; development of highly effective school leadership; and programs that place an emphasis on relevance, especially as it relates to students from underserved populations

Each school district has identified a Boeing district focal to prioritize all requests submitted by the school district to The Boeing Company based on the district's strategic focus areas. Parents, teachers or others interested in submitting an application are asked to contact their district office to have their proposal reviewed and submitted by the Boeing district focal for consideration.
