Local Strategies
At The Boeing Company we believe that the most effective way of meeting the needs of our community's most vulnerable residents is to address the root causes. Advancing the economic well-being and health of our most vulnerable residents gives them a chance at a new beginning. Through select, innovative programs that deliver tangible results, we can give substantive help to those communities that need it the most.
- Support low-income Puget Sound residents to:
- Improve employability and access employment through workforce development, social enterprises, small business development, and job training in high-demand sectors such as manufacturing and health care.
- Increase income and resources through wage progression strategies and access to public benefits.
- Build assets through savings programs and financial services linked to financial education.
Vulnerable populations with a targeted focus for economic self-sufficiency programs include single-parent headed and minority households, veterans, young adults (aged 16-24), and unemployment "exhaustees".
- Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of nonprofit community-based health organizations and human services delivery systems in order to address emerging issues, improve client outcomes, foster innovation, streamline services, integrate technologies and business practices, and/or reduce organizational costs.
