Bluebills retiree volunteer organization
When employees at Boeing retire, they leave their jobs, but their hearts remain in their communities. Many find their way back to Boeing to volunteer through the Bluebills, a retiree volunteer organization sponsored by Boeing. More than 2,000 members bring the skills and knowledge they acquired from a lifetime of work to local nonprofits, some volunteering full-time to better their communities. One particularly successful program is a partnership with World Vision and School, Home and Office Products Association called Kids In Need that provides school supplies to children in the poorest areas of western Washington. Without the hard work and energy of the Bluebills, many children would not receive the supplies they need to succeed in school.
