Bringing Boeing leaders together from all across the enterprise, the Boeing Leadership Center (BLC) works in partnership with the business units to provide leadership development opportunities that translate to on-the-job successes.
The BLC allows leaders, from first-line managers to senior executives, to share what they're doing and what they're learning, as well as exchange techniques and best practices. Curriculum designs are based on current research and leadership programs use concepts such as intensified action learning, simulations, and leaders teaching leaders.
The Campus
Located north of St. Louis on a bluff above the Missouri River, the 286-acre campus is serene and peaceful allowing participants to focus entirely on their leadership development experiences.
Opened in March 1999, the BLC has four residential lodges, with a total of 204 private rooms, a dining room that seats 256, a commons area, and a workshop building. The workshop has eight classrooms and 30 breakout rooms where teams collaborate on projects. An underground ballroom, built in 1946, has been incorporated into the BLC and is used as a meeting and dining place.
The center is a technically advanced building with a networked system of digital projection equipment for presentations and classroom exercises. Wall-mounted video monitors continually provide stock quotes, world news, and center announcements. All classrooms, breakout rooms, and common areas are set-up for wireless computer access. Sessions can be broadcast from classroom to classroom and from classroom to the lodge rooms.
The dining room, exercise room, and residence lodges are staffed by a team of professionals whose sole goal is helping executives and managers concentrate on learning.
