In the late 1960s a group of 50,000 Boeing workers made aviation history by building the first 747 in less than 16 months. This group became known as The Incredibles. The 747 is still the largest passenger airplane in the world. Today’s 747-400 jumbo jet seats up to 524 passengers. The freighter version carries up to 248,300 pounds of cargo.
