Boeing ShareValue Trust

Glossary

Here are definitions of common terms for the ShareValue Trust:

Active payroll: The status of an employee (non-executive) who is not on layoff and has not otherwise terminated employment with the company or a participating subsidiary and, unless otherwise required by law, shall not include the time during which an employee is on an approved leave of absence after the end of the third full calendar month of their leave.
Eligible employees: Full- and part-time employees on the active payroll of the company or a participating subsidiary are eligible to participate. Employees are not eligible while they are on the executive payroll or if they left the company or participating subsidiary before the current investment period ended.
Investment period: The time period used to measure the increase in long-term shareholder value of the Boeing shares in the trust. Each period is four years long, except the first two-year period, and each period has its own fund.
Participants and full participants: Eligible employees automatically become participants in a ShareValue investment period the first day they are on the active payroll. (See eligible employees information.) Neither enrollment nor employee contributions are necessary. A full participant has been on the active payroll the maximum number of months in an investment period.
Participating subsidiary: A Boeing subsidiary that has been approved for participation in the ShareValue Trust through a formal approval process. To verify your subsidiary's participation, refer to the subsidiary listing on this Web site.
Shareholder Value: The total stock market value of a company; a company's stock price multiplied by the total number of shares outstanding.
