Model 188 airline Demonstration (Douglas 1969)
The Model 188 short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft was based on the French Brequet 941, and had military and commercial use capabilities. Demonstration flights indicated that STOL aircraft could operate successfully either from downtown STOLports or STOLstrips at large airports, thus offering a measure of relief to airline congestion.
