GAM-72 Quail (McDonnell 1958)

An air breathing missile with a shape as unusual as its mission was the GAM-72 Quail. Carried on strike missions aboard Strategic Air Command B-52 bombers, Quail was launched in flight, confusing enemy radar and drawing fire away from the target-bound bombers.
