F-15 Eagle (First Flight 1972)
The F-15 Eagle will remain the U.S. Air Force's premier fighter into the new century. The first single-seat, twin-engine F-15 flew on July 27, 1972. The Eagle entered operational service in 1974 and has been crucial to defending the United States ever since.
