Model 500 (Hughes 1966)
The Hughes aircraft division that later became part of McDonnell Douglas first entered the commercial light turbine helicopter market in 1966 with the Model 500, a derivative of the OH-6A. The Model 500 combined the OH-6A's outstanding flying qualities with new attributes for the civilian market.
