ScanEagle Launched Aboard USS Cleveland -- In April 2005, Boeing received a contract from the U.S. Navy for unmanned aerial vehicles to support Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terror. Boeing is providing ScanEagle UAVs for Naval Expeditionary Strike Group missions and also to support oil platform security in the Persian Gulf.
