Delta II Globalstar 4 on the Pad
CAPE CANAVERAL AIR STATION, Fla., July 10, 1999 -- Two Boeing Delta II rockets wait turns to carry four satellites each into orbit for Space Systems/Loral and the Globalstar mobile global telephony system. This morning's launch at 4:45 a.m. EDT saw the departure of the vehicle shown here on the right. The pad soon will be filled with another Delta II scheduled to deliver its four-satellite Globalstar payload in mid-August. Final preparations are being made to the Delta II encased in the mobile service tower on the left, for its scheduled launch later this month.
